Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of lead time or design time can be expected?
Forte prides ourselves on our agility and ability to turn orders around quickly when required. Designs can be ready for approval within 1 – 2 weeks. Projects usually take around 4 weeks, while only the largest jobs stretch to 8 weeks or more.
Will Forte work with and ship to international customers?
Yes, Forte has plenty of experience working with customers out of province or country. We are happy to set up the logistics required to deliver the product on time.
Are there minimum quantities or orders?
No, Forte specializes in smaller production runs and prototypes. If one part is required to test a design, we can do it.
Who are Forte’s typical customers?
We service large OEMs, aerospace companies, fabricators, contractors, foundries, packaging, printing industries, and much more.
What materials do you work with?
We have experience with just about any material that can be machined. We specialize in tool steels, mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, but we have plenty of experience with various plastics, titanium, red metals, and many more.
What files and formats can you work with?
We use Solidworks and NX for our design and are capable of handling a number of file types, including STEP, Parasolid, IGES, DXF, and of course, native Solidworks files.
What if I don’t have a computer model?
That’s not a problem, we can reverse engineer and work from PDFs, samples, or even a sketch.
